Size and fit
Beanies
All our beanies are one size and fit heads from 54 to 60 cm. The rib stretches to fit and recovers its shape, so most people never need to think about size. What changes from style to style is how the beanie sits.
| Style | How it sits | Under a helmet |
|---|---|---|
| Cuffed rib (Col, Glacier, Alpage, Lauber, Refuge, Piste, Atelier) | Over the ears, with the cuff folded | Yes. Fold the cuff once for a lower profile. |
| Seamless (Arolla) | Over the ears, with no crown seam | Yes, one of the best options |
| Fisherman (Dock, Chalet, Ibex, Traverse) | Short, above the ears | Not designed for it |
| Slouch (Sommet) | Longer, falls at the back | No |
| Cable and pom (Haute Route, Verbier, Dolomiti) | Over the ears, with more loft | Not ideal, as it adds bulk |
| Mountain Performance (Ascent, Crest, Couloir, Liftline, Windline) | Low-profile, ear-length | Yes, designed for it |
| Brushed mohair (Zermatt, St. Moritz) | Over the ears, with a soft halo | No, keep it for off the hill |
Caps
Our caps come in two sizes, S/M and M/L. If you're between sizes, or usually find caps tight, choose M/L. The unstructured caps (Lodge and Alpine Cotton) soften and shape to your head with wear.
How to measure your head
Wrap a soft tape measure around your head about 1 cm above your eyebrows and ears, across the widest part at the back. Keep it snug but not tight.
